January: De-Stress

January 21, 2020

There’s nothing wrong with being a little stressed. It’s a natural reaction to certain situations, and it helps you to protect yourself as well as keeping you focused. January is a tough month. We have had a relaxing time off over Christmas and New Year, and have returned to work with lots to catch up on. It’s sometimes hard to get back into the swing of things and it can be stressful for us all. Back to reality as they say!

Being stressed over long periods of time can lower your immune system and can cause health problems. De-stressing is so important. Reducing stress in your everyday life is vital for maintaining your overall health, and it allows you to be more productive. It doesn’t have to be huge changes to allow yourself to de-stress, so here are a few things you can do this January.

Identify What’s Making You Stressed

The first step to managing your stress is to identify what it is that triggers it. Recognising what it is that causes your stress can help solve any underlying problems, and to help in the future in similar situations.

Pamper Yourself!

Soaking in water has a soothing effect. Add one of Hydréa London’s Lavender Bath Bomb’s, and light some candles, and you’re well on your way to complete zen. Pampering yourself shows your body you are taking care of it, whilst distracting you and allowing you to feel relaxed.

Dry Body Brushing

Like most beauty trends, there have been some pretty big claims made about dry body brushing. Some people swear that just 5 minutes a day is all you need for smooth and glowing skin. It is one of the simplest and easiest ways to improve your skin tone and well being. Dry body brushing creates a range of benefits. It releases endorphins to reduce stress for a relaxed body and mind and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and exfoliates dry skin. It also stimulates the lymphatic system to drain toxins away safely from the fatty layers in the skin, helping to prevent the build up of cellulite.

Even if you take 5 to 10 minutes out of your day to yourself, it can do you the world of good. Meditation if a great tool to have when life makes you stressed. It calms you down and lets your thoughts pass through your body. It allows you to be in the moment, and to be present.

Regular Exercise

Doing exercise releases endorphins. This helps to improve your mood, as well as distracting you away from what it making you feel stressed. Find an activity you enjoy doing and fit it in around your routine.
